General Atlantic taps KKR director for Asia-Pacific role

US private equity major General Atlantic has added Neal Kok, a Director at rival private investment firm KKR, to its team as it looks to bolster its operations in Australia, according to a report by the Australian Financial Review.

Before making the switch to General Atlantic, Kok spent more than nine years at KKR, originally in Singapore before moving to Sydney last year and worked on KKR’s 2019 acquisition of the Philippines’ largest hospital group, Metro Pacific Hospital.

Prior to KKR, Kok spent spells with Treadstone Partners, Goldman Sachs and Clayton Utz in Perth.

The report cites unnamed sources as revealing that Kok is set to return to Singapore, where he will oversee investments in Australia and wider Asia-Pacific region, reporting to Sandeep Naik, managing director at GA and head of India and South-East Asia.
