Sidley Austin has appointed Ram Burshtine as a partner in the global finance practice in the firm’s New York office.
Burshtine brings extensive experience in representing financial institutions, private equity sponsors and corporate borrowers in a wide range of domestic and cross-border financing transactions.
“Ram is an experienced and skilled finance practitioner with an impressive track record of advising top-tier clients,” says Michael J. Schmidtberger, managing partner of the firm’s New York office. “We are pleased to welcome him to our international team of transactional lawyers focused on providing strategic and real-time counsel to clients addressing the latest developments in the global finance market.”
Burshtine’s practice focuses on leveraged domestic and cross-border acquisition and recapitalisation financing transactions, including leveraged and investment grade financing, leveraged cash-flow and asset-based syndicated credit facilities, first and second lien secured facilities, unitranche loans, and senior and mezzanine transactions. He also regularly advises clients in connection with debt restructuring, debtor-in-possession credit facilities and exit financing. Over the past two years alone, Burshtine represented clients on financing transactions, which aggregated amounts in excess of USD6bn.
Burshtine’s arrival further expands the firm’s global finance practice, following the recent addition of two new partners to the practice in Dallas and the addition of one partner in Sidley’s Houston office.
