GlobeOp Financial Services (LSE:GO.) has added a fourth office to its Mumbai network, increasing capacity to meet growing client service demand and to enhance business continuity planning.
A new 46,700 sq. ft. (4,339 sq. meter) hedge fund administration and data centre facility is now operational in Airoli, part of Navi Mumbai on the eastern side of the city. It is located in the same Airoli business complex as GlobeOp’s third Mumbai office, opened in 2009. The new 650-seat facility increases GlobeOp’s total Mumbai office space from 100,750 sq. ft. (9359 sq. meters) to 147,450 sq. ft. (13,697 sq. meters).
Client services at the new office include integrated middle and back office, fund administration and risk reporting services, paralleling those offered at the other three Mumbai offices. Advanced conference and meeting room facilities expand GlobeOp’s capacity for client and prospect due diligence meetings, as well as continuous employee training programs.
More than 1,675 of GlobeOp’s 2,000 global employees are based in Mumbai. Within that group are 154 product development professionals, nearly 78% of GlobeOp’s worldwide total. The newest Airoli facility will enable GlobeOp to grow its Mumbai headcount to 2000 employees, divided approximately equally between the two Airoli offices and two earlier offices in Malad.
The building’s design supports the environmental goals of the overall Airoli complex in seeking Leadership in Energy Efficiency and Design (LEED) certification, and in reducing building operating costs. Green technology features range from variable air volume (VAV) air circulation and replacing fluorescent lights with energy efficient LED lighting and optimised natural light. Employee considerations included ergonomically designed work stations and a commercial-grade cafeteria.
