Evercore has appointed Goldman Sachs dealmaker David Kamo as Senior Managing Director as it looks to boost its private equity and alternative asset management coverage, according to a report by Reuters citing sources familiar with the matter.
Kamo, who served as Goldman’s Global Head of Dealmaking for Financial Sponsors since last year, will transition to Evercore following a period of gardening leave.
This hire is part of Evercore’s broader strategy to attract more business from major corporates and private equity firms amid a period of slower dealmaking activity.
Kamo joined Goldman Sachs in 2016 and was named a partner in 2020. Prior to his tenure at Goldman, he spent a decade at Lehman Brothers and Barclays, according to his LinkedIn profile.
