Growth investor Grafton Capital has appointed Amaad Mahmood and Daniel Cheung to its investment team.
Mahmood joins as an Investment Director, and will focus on sourcing, evaluating, and executing investments. Prior to joining Grafton, Mahmood was a growth investor at Mobeus Equity Partners.
Cheung joins Grafton Capital as Associate Director from Downing Ventures having begun his career in Corporate Finance at Arma Partners.
Last month, Grafton Capital announced the appointment of Tom Morrell as Chief Financial Officer, who joined from Brookfield Asset Management.
These recent appointments to Grafton Capital’s investment and operational team come at a time of considerable growth for the firm, a leading provider of growth capital to European technology companies.
Co-Founded by Ed Barroll Brown, Managing Partner, Grafton Capital has invested over GBP100m to date. Recent transactions include a growth capital investment in Omilia in April 2020, the sale of Softomotive to Microsoft in May 2020, and a growth buyout of Third Financial in October 2020.
Mahmood says: “The past year has accelerated the structural shift in technology adoption for enterprise and consumers. Grafton Capital’s portfolio has performed well through Covid and I’m looking forward to playing a role in sourcing exciting new growth companies to partner with, as well as working with current portfolio companies.”
Daniel Cheung, Associate Director, says: “I have been following Grafton Capital’s progress over the last few years, and am delighted to have joined the team at an exciting time for tech and software investing.”
Ed Barroll Brown, Managing Partner, adds: “2021 marks a new chapter for Grafton Capital as we embark on the next stage of our own growth as a firm. Daniel and Amaad are very talented investors with dense early career experience. They both bring new perspectives and ideas to the team, and it’s great to have them on board.”
