Great Hill Partners, a private equity firm that invests in high-growth, disruptive companies, has appointed David Roberts as a managing director in the firm’s digital commerce team, top focus on nvestments across eCommerce, marketplaces, consumer products, services and adjacent enabling software verticals.
Roberts joins Great Hill after 11 years at Advent International, where he focused on investments in growth businesses in the consumer sector. He co-led or was actively involved in investments across consumer products, digital and e-commerce, consumer technology, retail, restaurants, travel and hospitality, content and gaming.
Roberts is currently a Director of Sovos Brands, one of the fastest growing food companies of scale in the United States, where he chairs the Nominating & Corporate Governance Committee.
Prior to Advent, Roberts worked for the Quadrangle Group, where he focused on investments in Media and Telecom in North America and Asia, and at Bear Stearns in New York. He earned an MBA with Honours from Wharton Business School and a BA from Princeton University with Honours in Economics.
Great Hill has to date completed more than 25 investments in the digital commerce sector, including: Bombas, Custom Ink, Momondo Group, The Shade Store, TodayTix Group and Wayfair.
