Greenbelt Capital closes inaugural energy transition fund at $1bn hard cap

Greenbelt Capital Partners, an Austin-based private equity firm focused on investing in middle-market companies driving the transition to a more resilient, low-carbon, and electrified future, has closed its inaugural fund at $1bn, exceeding its $750m target.

Led by Chris Manning and Glenn Jacobson, Greenbelt raised the fund with backing from pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, insurers, and foundations across North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific.

The close brings Greenbelt’s total assets under management to approximately $2.5bn.

The firm has already started deploying capital from the fund into portfolio companies targeting grid modernisation, digital infrastructure, industrial electrification, and energy efficiency.

Threadmark acted as placement agent, while Kirkland & Ellis advised on legal matters.
