Greenpixie raises £250k in pre-seed round

Greenpixie – a specialist in the measurement and reduction of digital carbon – has raised £250,000 in a pre-seed funding round led by Ascension.

Greenpixie – a specialist in the measurement and reduction of digital carbon – has raised £250,000 in a pre-seed funding round led by Ascension.

Several prominent angel investors including Christian Arno and Ross Johnson also participated in the round.

The £250k raise will speed up the growth of Greenpixie’s flagship product, Cloud NetZero, which will accelerate the process of reducing at source the impact of carbon emissions on cloud computing.

Greenpixie’s vision is to merge sustainability and the digital world via scalable software tools to empower businesses to measure and reduce the carbon emissions of their online activities. With over 10 years of software and digital marketing startups under their belt and created 6 digit revenue-making companies, John Ridd (CEO) and Will Tinney (CTO) were already working together when they received the email that led to Greenpixie. Rory Brown (now Greenpixie’s Head of Sustainability) shared an episode from a TV show with them in November 2020 about a 4% black hole in global carbon emission reporting: digital carbon.
