Guernsey has received formal approval for its companies to list on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEx). HKEx’s Listing Committee has officially confirmed Guernsey as an acceptable overseas jurisdiction for the purpose of companies incorporated in the island seeking to list on the Exchange.
The decision was made at a meeting on Thursday 24th March and was announced through a statement on the exchange’s website earlier this week.
Carey Olsen corporate partner, Tom Carey (pictured), says: ‘This is fantastic news for Guernsey and for Guernsey Companies who want to access capital in the Far East. We hope that our success as a jurisdiction of choice for companies listed on the London Stock Exchange can be translated in to future success in Hong Kong.”
