HarbourVest Partners holds final close of IOF III at $865m

HarbourVest Partners, a global private markets investment firm with more than $147bn in assets under management as of 31 March, 2025, has held the final close of its third Infrastructure Opportunities Fund (IOF III), with $865m in LP commitments.

IOF III focuses on secondary investment opportunities and is further strengthened by direct co-investments in infrastructure assets across North America and Western Europe.

Since starting to deploy capital in December 2023, IOF III is delivering early liquidity having built a diversified portfolio spanning traditional and emerging infrastructure sectors. Investments have been made alongside high-quality general partners (GPs), offering exposure to hard-to-access segments and resilient assets.

IOF III received strong support from both existing and new LPs, including 18 new investors across diverse channels and geographies. The successful fundraise nearly doubled the size of its predecessor, positioning the Fund to capitalise on a compelling set of secondary and direct co-investment infrastructure opportunities.

HarbourVest has been active in infrastructure since 2014, leveraging its deep experience across private markets. The firm’s overall secondaries platform, which includes private equity and infrastructure, represents a significant portion of its $147bn AUM and offers investors scale, access, and insights across asset classes. This breadth enables HarbourVest to identify and execute on high-quality secondary opportunities with speed and precision.

Limited Partners in the Fund are based globally and are primarily institutional clients.
