Haynes Boone has boosted its fund finance capabilities by adding seven attorneys from Seward & Kissel, as it positions to capitalise on growing demand for synthetic risk transfers (SRTs), collateralised fund obligations (CFOs), and securitised subscription lines.
Albert Tan, Co-Head of Haynes Boone’s fund finance practice group, explained that the firm’s decision was driven by the increasing interest from banking and insurance clients seeking enhanced capabilities in these advanced financial instruments.
“We recognised that in order to maintain our full-service offering for fund finance clients, we needed to strategically augment our practice with specialised debt capital markets expertise,” Tan said.
The new hires, who will bolster both the firm’s fund finance and securitisation practices, include Jeff Berman and Greg Cioffi, partners with a combined 50 years of experience in structured finance and securitisation.
In addition to Berman and Cioffi, the new group also includes Andrew Robertson, a Partner; David Sagalyn, Counsel; and Associates Grace Nealon, Mariah McGuirk, and Brendon Vetter.
