Lower middle-market private equity firm HCI Equity Partners is rebranding as Oridian Capital Partners, reflecting a leadership transition and strategic evolution that took place prior to 2018.
The new name combines “origin” and “meridian,” symbolising the firm’s commitment to partner with businesses at their foundation while guiding transformational growth, according to Managing Partner and CIO Doug McCormick. McCormick emphasised that the rebrand does not signal a new firm; the team and its investment philosophy remain intact.
Oridian’s leadership includes McCormick, Operating Partner Bob Hund, Partner Scott Gibaratz, and Managing Directors Tim Frend, Nate Novak, and Brendon Biddle, with the group averaging 18 years of collaboration.
The firm continues to target founder-owned service, distribution, and manufacturing companies in North America, focusing on platform investments, M&A-driven growth, operational excellence, and durable business models where its sector expertise provides a competitive edge.
