The head of Ogier’s German desk, experienced M&A lawyer Frederic Pilorget, has been appointed Counsel.
Luxembourg-based Pilorget – who is admitted in Luxembourg, Paris and New York – leads the German desk offering advice on Luxembourg corporate law and private equity to German clients, mainly in Frankfurt and Munich.
Pilorget has practised for more than ten years in Luxembourg, and is one of four German speakers in Ogier’s Luxembourg team, including banking and finance partner Fabien Debroise.
Besides M&A work, Pilorget’s practice includes advising corporate clients and high net worth individuals on corporate restructurings, joint ventures, M&A transactions and private equity transactions.
Ogier partner Bertrand Geradin, who heads the Luxembourg corporate law team, said: “We are very pleased to make this announcement, which comes at a time when our team here in Luxembourg continues to grow.
“The spectre of Brexit means that Luxembourg is of increasing interest to international clients – and domestic European ones – particularly in the investment fund and private equity space, and we are seeing an uptick in inquiries.”
Frederic Pilorget is a native German speaker who studied in Germany and in the US and France before starting his legal career with a Magic Circle firm.
