HIG Capital, a global alternative investment firm with $75bn of capital under management, has appointed Carlos Couret as a managing director and head of the Spanish lower-mid-market private equity team.
Couret has 17 years of mid-market private equity experience spanning origination, execution, and exits across multiple industries. Prior to joining HIG he was a senior investment professional at ProA Capital, having previously held positions at BNP Paribas in its New York and Madrid offices.
Since its founding in 1993, HIG has invested in and managed more than 400 companies worldwide. The firm’s current portfolio includes more than 100 companies with combined sales in excess of $53bn.
