Dallas-based investment management firm Highland Capital Management is now compliant with the Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS) and has been independently verified for the period of 1 January 2009 to 31 December 2013.
The GIPS standards are a rigorous set of investment performance measurement principles which have been adopted in 37 countries and recognised around the world for providing credibility, integrity, scope and uniformity of performance reporting by enabling direct comparability of a firm’s track record.
“Transparency and integrity are two of the most important things professionals look for when investing capital,” says Mark Okada, co-founder and chief investment officer of Highland Capital Management. “GIPS compliance and verifications provide just that and truly shed light on the companies who are fully committed to open and honest investing and reporting.”
Highland was independently verified by ACA Performance Services. To achieve this goal, Highland separately engaged the consultation services of Guardian Performance Solutions.
“As the global standard for presenting performance history, we recognise the imperative for investment firms to comply with the requirements of the GIPS standards,” says Theresa Pope, director of consultant relations at Highland. “We’re extremely proud to be able to claim GIPS compliance as it further demonstrates Highland’s commitment to open and transparent communication with our investors.”
