Hogan Lovells has expanded its M&A year based in Boston with the appointments of Joe Basile and Zohar Nevo. Both join from Foley Hoag, where Basile, who joins as a senior advisor, was a partner and co-chair of that firm’s M&A practice group.
At Hogan Lovells, they reunite with their former Foley Hoag colleagues Alex Aber and Adrienne Ellman. Aber joined Hogan Lovells as an M&A partner in Boston in June, while Ellman joined the New York office of Hogan Lovells as an M&A partner in February. Both previously co-chaired the M&A practice at Foley Hoag with Basile.
Basile has experience in cross-border transactions, with extensive experience advising on mergers, acquisitions divestitures, control and minority investments, joint ventures and strategic alliances involving parties in North America, Europe, Asia and Latin America. Prior to joining Foley Hoag as a partner in 2014, he was a partner at Weil, Gotshal & Manges and Bingham McCutchen, both in Boston.
Nevo joins Hogan Lovells as counsel. His practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions and venture capital finance transactions and advising buy-side and sell-side clients in domestic as well as cross-border transactions. He represents strategic buyers in a broad mix of industries including life sciences and technology. He also represents emerging growth companies that are seeking financing and working towards an “exit.”
