Global investment bank Houlihan Lokey has appointed Dr Ashish Patel as a Managing Director within its capital markets group in expanding its equity private placement capability and presence in Europe. Patel will be based in London.
In his new role, Patel will focus on providing equity solutions, including growth capital and structured equity, for European companies across various sectors.
Prior to joining Houlihan Lokey, Patel was a Managing Director and Head of Growth Capital Solutions at Deutsche Numis, where he led the private capital advisory business and focused primarily on healthcare and life sciences, climate technology and enterprise software.
Prior to Deutsche Numis, Patel led venture capital and growth equity deals at Optum Ventures and led healthcare and life sciences investments at Mercia Asset Management. He originally trained as an anaesthetics and intensive care doctor in the UK, according to his LinkedIn profile.
Last year, Houlihan Lokey’s capital markets group raised and advised on over $14bn in capital across approximately 100 transactions with 65 financial sponsors across six countries.
