Herbert Smith Freehills has bolstered its private equity practice in London with the appointment of Eleanor Shanks, as a partner and Head of International Private Equity, a newly-created position, according to a report By Bloomberg.
Shanks joins from Sidley Austin when she spent the past four years having joined the business from fellow US law firm Proskauer in 2019, Prior to that, she worked at Dentons, where she was made a partner in 2014.
Her past roster of major private equity clients includes The Blackstone Group, CVC, EQT and Oaktree Capital.
Sidley has been rebuilding its London private equity practice this year with the appointment of two partners from Weil Gotshal & Manges.
