iCON Infrastructure recruits four to executive team

iCON Infrastructure, an investment firm focused on investments in core infrastructure in Europe and North America, has hired four to its executive team.

Daniel Hales has joined the iCON team as director of finance, with responsibility for overseeing all aspects of the financial and operational management of iCON and its associated funds. Prior to joining iCON, he spent four years with an FSA regulated investment firm as group financial controller and compliance officer.

Hales will manage a team that includes Anette Grindsted, who joins iCON with a background of performing project management roles in the public and private sectors, as well as iCON’s team of third party service providers.

In addition, Sophie Guibert and Jeremy Smith have joined the iCON team as investment associates, with roles covering all aspects of the firm’s investment programme, including investment origination, analysis, due diligence, execution and asset management. Guibert worked in investment banking in the energy and resources team at RBS. Smith was previously a solicitor who spent over five years with Weil Gotshal in London, specialising in M&A and private equity.

Paul Malan (pictured), senior partner of iCON, says: “We are delighted to welcome Daniel, Jeremy, Sophie and Anette to our executive team. These additions enhance our ability to capitalise on the significant number of investment opportunities that we are seeing in mid-market infrastructure across Europe and North America.”
