IK Investment Partners appoints Alireza Etemad as Partner and Co-Head of IK’s Stockholm office

IK Investment Partners (IK), a European private equity advisory group with Nordic roots, has appointed Alireza Etemad (pictured) as Partner as of October 2015. Etemad will be based in Stockholm and co-heading IK’s Stockholm office together with Kristian Carlsson Kemppinen.

Etemad, 38, joins from Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken (SEB), where he has been Global Head of Corporate Finance. During his time at SEB, he has actively led and participated in numerous landmark transactions in the Nordic region, including private and public M&A situations as well as IPOs and rights issues. Prior to SEB, Etemad worked as a management consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton in Stockholm and in investment banking at Credit Suisse First Boston in London. He studied at Linköping University and Institut national des Télécommunications in Paris.

“We are excited to welcome Alireza, who with his substantial transaction experience and extensive network in the Nordics will be a valuable addition to our Nordic investment team. Alireza also has significant operational experience through his previous work as a management consultant, which makes him a great fit for IK and our hands-on approach,” says Christopher Masek, Managing Partner at IK.

“I look forward to joining IK and working with its first class team to enhance further IK’s position in the Nordic markets. There are a lot of exciting investment opportunities in the Nordics, and IK’s investment approach and strong track record offers a great platform for any company wishing to realise its potential,” says Etemad.

In addition, after 17 years at IK, Helena Stjernholm will be leaving IK’s Stockholm office at the end of August 2015.

“We would like to thank Helena for 17 years of valuable contributions to IK’s success in the Nordics, and we wish her all the best for the future,” said Masek.
