Inflexion’s British Engineering Services makes first acquisition

Inflexion portfolio company British Engineering Services, an engineering testing, inspection and certification business, has acquired material testing consultancy Nortest Limited.

Inflexion says the deal will strengthen British Engineering Services’ ability to provide its customers with premium quality engineering testing, inspection and certification services throughout the UK and the Republic of Ireland by adding a comprehensive range of non-destructive testing, positive material examinations and welding certification services.
Stewart Kay, group CEO at British Engineering Services, says: "I’m extremely proud to announce today our first acquisition as British Engineering Services. We are a relatively new business, but we have a long and illustrious history in our industry. With the inclusion of Nortest into our Group we add additional expertise in the non-destructive testing market offering our customers increased services. Nortest has built an enviable reputation since they started trading in 1980 and this acquisition represents an excellent addition to the British Engineering Services Group.”

British Engineering Services, based in Manchester, employs over 450 qualified Engineer Surveyors and Certification Engineers. Customers benefit from state-of-the-art technology and online reporting systems that can deliver information quickly and efficiently.
