Investec adds to corporate and acquisition finance team

Investec Specialist Bank has appointed Conor McMahon to its corporate and acquisition finance team, led by Callum Bell, head of corporate and acquisition finance at Investec.

Based in the team’s London office, McMahon will play a key role in the origination and execution of leveraged finance and private debt solutions for clients across Europe.
In his previous role as vice-president in the Bank of Ireland’s global acquisition finance team, McMahon worked on a range of debt financing deals ranging from GBP7 million to GBP200 million EBITDA across leverage buy out transactions, acquisitions, refinancings, dividend recapitalisations and public-to-privates.
Since its inception in 2012, Investec Corporate & Acquisition Finance has grown to become a 12-strong team providing a range of financing solutions to support its private equity and corporate clients’ ambitions for growth, predominantly in the UK, Ireland, Benelux and Germany.
Bell says: “Conor’s appointment is a further indicator of the significant growth we have achieved over the last few years. Our clients’ growth ambitions require a flexible approach and we pride ourselves on our ability to tailor and deliver the customised debt solutions they need. Conor’s experience will be invaluable in helping us to further meet the individual needs of our client base as we continue to expand across Europe.”
McMahon says: “I am delighted to join Investec who have built an excellent reputation in the market. The team’s flexible approach and ability to react quickly to originate, structure and execute on complex transactions is important in a competitive market. Equally, the company’s values and entrepreneurial culture are aligned to my own and joining the team felt like a natural fit.”
