Investec Bank has expanded its direct lending platform with the appointment of Michael Miller, who will lead its newly established private credit management (PCM) team and work closely with the firm’s Head of Direct Lending, Callum Bell.
Miller most recently worked at HSBC across M&A, loan markets and portfolio management, where he had responsibility for the bank’s sponsor coverage and the leveraged finance portfolio team.
Investec’s direct lending platform provides institutional investors, family offices and UHNWIs with access to high-growth lower mid-market borrowers. Its PCM team was set up as a dedicated investment management function for new and existing borrowers and will manage a portfolio of over 120 existing clients.
Under Miller’s leadership, the PCM team will be responsible for managing the credit and risk oversight of Investec’s direct lending book as well as originating new revenue opportunities by supporting Investec’s clients through their growth lifecycle.
