Miller Buckfire, an independent full service investment bank, has appointed veteran investment banker Jason R. Anderson as a managing director.
Anderson will focus on companies active in the general industrial and automotive sectors and help lead Miller Buckfire’s growing strategic advisory practice.
Anderson is the fourth senior level addition to Miller Buckfire’s advisory practice in 2009.
He joins from Banc of America Securities, where he was a managing director with senior client coverage responsibilities for diversified industrial clients and head of automotive investment banking.
Prior to this, Anderson spent 12 years as a banker covering industrial clients with Goldman Sachs.
"All of us at the firm welcome Jason to our team," says Henry S. Miller (pictured), managing director, chairman and co-founder of Miller Buckfire. "He adds an important dimension to our advisory capabilities as clients in the industrial sector optimise their balance sheets and seek new strategic opportunities."
In addition to Anderson, Miller Buckfire has announced three other senior level new hires to the advisory practice this year. John Orem joined from Morgan Stanley to head teams advising companies in lodging and gaming; David Shiffman joined from Goldman Sachs to advise clients in retail businesses; and Michael Scott joined from Bank of America to establish a new US government advisory practice.
"I am delighted to become a member of the Miller Buckfire team," says Anderson. "My background working with companies on strategic and capital structure matters fits well with Miller Buckfire’s long-standing reputation for successfully advising companies on complex balance sheet and business issues. I look forward to adding value to our clients and contributing to our growth in the future."
