BerchWood Partners has appointed Jean-Marc Cuvilly as a principal of the firm in its New York office.

Cuvilly will be responsible for origination efforts and maintaining limited partner relationships throughout North America.  He has over 20 years of experience in private placements, fundraising and investment banking.

“Jean-Marc’s extensive experience and expertise in fundraising will be a significant asset to the firm,” says David Berchenbriter (pictured), founder and managing partner of BerchWood. “He is highly respected in the industry.”

Prior to joining BerchWood, Cuvilly was at global investment firm Autonomy Capital, where he raised capital and was responsible for investor relations for the firm’s real estate platform. Before joining Autonomy, he was a partner at Triago Americas, a Paris-based private equity advisory firm, where he led the company’s North American efforts in the private equity secondary transaction advisory business.

Prior to that, he was a vice president at Probitas Partners, a placement agent, raising capital for private equity and real estate funds. Previously, Jean-Marc was an associate at Merrill Lynch in the firm’s private equity placement group, where he raised capital for private equity and real estate funds.  Jean-Marc began his career at JP Morgan in the firm’s fixed income sales and research department.

Cuvilly received a BA in economics from Princeton University and an MBA from the University of California at Los Angeles. He speaks fluent French and Haitian Creole and conversational Spanish.
