Jeito Capital expands investment team with two senior London hires

Biopharma-focused private equity firm Jeito Capital has strengthened its investment team and expanded its UK presence with the appointments of Magdalena Jonikas as partner and Anastasiya Sybirna as principal.

The hires, both London-based, form part of Jeito’s strategy to deepen its investment capabilities in one of the world’s leading biopharma investment hubs while supporting the continued growth of its international portfolio.

Jonikas joins from Syncona, where she was a Partner responsible for company creation, financing and strategic development across a number of therapeutics businesses, including OMass Therapeutics, Kesmalea Therapeutics and Mosaic Therapeutics. During her time at Syncona, she also served on portfolio company boards and held interim executive leadership roles, including as interim CEO of Mosaic Therapeutics.

Prior to Syncona, Jonikas spent several years at McKinsey & Company, advising global pharmaceutical and healthcare clients on corporate strategy and leading commercial due diligence assignments across therapeutics, medical technology and healthcare services.

At Jeito, she will focus on sourcing and executing investments while working closely with portfolio companies to support growth and value creation.

Sybirna joins the firm from Fidelity-backed F-Prime Capital, where she was a Senior Associate focused on healthcare investments. Earlier in her career, she held consulting roles at McKinsey & Company and Advancy, advising pharmaceutical and medical products companies on strategic initiatives.

In her new role, Sybirna will support investment origination, due diligence, transaction execution and portfolio company development.

Dr Rafaèle Tordjman, founder and CEO of Jeito Capital, said the new hires would enhance the firm’s ability to identify and support high-growth biopharma businesses.

“Magdalena brings a unique combination of scientific expertise, commercial insight and operational leadership, together with extensive experience in investing and company building,” said Tordjman. “Anastasiya’s investment and strategic experience will further strengthen our ability to execute our investment strategy and support the next generation of innovative biopharma companies.”
