Kedge Capital targeting $1bn for hedge and PE investments

Kedge Capital, the company which makes private equity and hedge fund investments on behalf of Ernesto Bertarelli, one of Switzerland’s richest men, and his family, is looking to attract other ultra-wealthy investors, according to a report by Bloomberg.

The report cites unnamed sources investments as revealing that The he Jersey-based firm is seeking to raise more than $1 billion to expand its business with the Bertarellis providing a large portion of the capital, and the firm targeting other rich families and individuals with long-term investing outlooks for the additional funds.

The Bertarelli family fortune totals around $17.5 billion according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, mostly derived from their sale of a majority stake in drugs company Serono, in back in 2006 which saw them earn more than $900 million for the firm’s initial IPO in New York.
