KKR has promoted Pete Stavros and Nate Taylor to global co-heads of the firm’s private equity business. The pair, who have served as KKR’s co-heads of private equity in the Americas since 2019, will now also take on responsibility for the firm’s PE businesses in Asia and Europe.
KKR will continue to raise separate funds for each region, with the four existing co-heads of private equity in Europe and Asia – based in London, Tokyo and Singapore – remaining in their roles and reporting to Stavros and Taylor. According to KKR co-CEO Scott Nuttall, the move is aimed at preserving KKR’s local-investing model while ensuring that the various regions share investment themes, operational playbooks and talent.
KKR’s private equity division has nearly doubled in assets under management since 2019. As of 31 December, 2022, the $165 billion business included approximately 300 investment professionals looking after a portfolio of more than 200 companies in KKR’s flagship Private Equity, Middle Market, Core Private Equity, Healthcare Growth, Technology Growth, Impact, and Customised Portfolio Solutions strategies.
