Global buyout major KKR is closing in on a deal to acquire Broadcom’s VMware end-user computing (EUC) business for around $3.8bn, following the latter’s $69bn purchase of VMware last year, according to a report from Reuters.
The report cites unnamed sources as revealing that the deal for the EUC business, which allows users to access desktops and applications from any device, could be announced as early as this week although no agreement has been reached yet and the transaction may not proceed.
KKR already owns Alludo, which includes virtualisation software Parallels and refers to itself as a software provider that “reimagines where, when, and how we work” on its website.
