KKR to acquire 25% stake in Eni’s Enilive for €2.94bn

Global private investment giant KKR has agreed to pay €2.64bn to acquire a 25% stake in Enilive, Eni’s mobility transformation company, comprising a payment of €2.44bn for the shares, plus a €500m capital increase to Eni prior to the completion of the deal.

According to a press statement, the deal, which gives Enilive a valuation of €11.75bn, “brings together Eni’s proven ability to develop high-growth energy businesses and KKR’s expertise as a long-term investor with a strong track record in the energy and infrastructure sectors”.

Enilive is a specialist in biorefining, biomethane production, smart mobility solutions – including Enjoy car sharing – and the provision of HVOlution biogenic fuel (100% Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil), bio-LPG, and biomethane, as well as electric recharging and food services via its 5,000-plus Enilive Stations across Europe.

Closing of the transaction is subject to customary approvals provided by law.
