KKR’s Bookmyer named Head of KKR Australia

KKR has appointed Scott Bookmyer, Member and Chief Operating Officer of KKR Asia, as head of KKR Australia, effective 1 July, 2016. He will relocate to Sydney from Hong Kong.

“Transferring Scott to Sydney will leverage his experience – both globally and in the Asia-Pacific region – to strengthen our franchise in a strategically important market. Scott will provide proven leadership across KKR’s varied and growing investment platforms in Australia, which include private equity, real estate, energy and resources and credit,” says Joseph Y Bae, Member & Managing Partner of KKR Asia.

“I’m excited to join the KKR team in this vibrant market where we have successfully built many investment platforms. Building upon the more than AUD3 billion already invested by KKR in Australia, I look forward to working closely with our talented and experienced group of local executives as we build enduring value with our partners and investors,” says Bookmyer.

While assuming direct responsibility for KKR Australia, Bookmyer remains COO of KKR Asia Pacific, in which he oversees core elements of KKR’s business operations and various strategic initiatives. He will also continue to serve on the Asia Private Equity Investment Committee and remain the Chairman of the Asia Portfolio Management Committee.

In 2002, he joined KKR Capstone, a team of operating professionals dedicated to supporting KKR deal teams and portfolio companies, and in 2010 moved to Hong Kong to serve as Head of KKR Capstone Asia. He joined KKR Asia in 2014 as COO.

Prior to KKR Capstone, he worked in brand management at Procter & Gamble and was a management consultant for The Boston Consulting Group in the US and Europe. He holds a BA with honors from Indiana University and an MBA from The University of Chicago.
