K&L Gates expands emerging growth and venture capital practice

The Palo Alto office of law firm K&L Gates has appointed Linda Zhou as a partner in the emerging growth and venture capital practice.

Zhou joins K&L Gates from Gunderson Dettmer Stough Villeneuve Franklin & Hachigian.
Along with venture capital investors and firms, Zhou advises start-up, emerging growth, and public companies in the consumer internet, software, telecommunications, and entertainment technology industries on corporate and securities law, private and public financings, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate partnering transactions.
Qualified in the People’s Republic of China in addition to California, Zhou also represents companies on a variety of China-related matters and counsels China-based, venture-backed companies as well as venture capital firms that invest in China.
“Linda adds skill and strength to our China-focused activities in Silicon Valley, both advising Chinese entrepreneurs, engineers, and scientists working in northern California and representing China-based technology companies expanding into the US,” says Jon Michaelson, administrative partner of K&L Gates’ Palo Alto office. “We are thrilled to have such a uniquely qualified lawyer become part of our cross-border practice with Asia.”
