LDC hires Deloitte partner Adcock to portfolio role

Mid-market private equity investor LDC has appointed Simon Adcock as a Portfolio Director.

Adcock, an ACA qualified accountant, has almost 20 years of Big 4 advisory experience, latterly as partner and regional head of Deloitte’s Corporate Advisory business, an area he helped to establish in 2005 to support privately owned and private equity-backed mid-market companies going through change, restructuring or refinancing.
He began his career at KPMG in Birmingham before joining Deloitte in 2004, making partner in 2010.  He also spent two years in Australia, establishing the Deloitte Corporate Advisory business there.
Adcock will provide a national resource to LDC’s portfolio of 90 companies, which collectively generates revenues of over £4 billion and employs some 30,000 people.

As well as taking board positions at a number of investee businesses, he will also work alongside LDC’s Value Enhance Group in developing and implementing business growth and transformation strategies.
Chris Hurley, CEO of LDC, says: “We are extremely pleased that Simon has joined us.  Simon brings a broader advisory skill set to LDC which will be of enormous value to our team and our portfolio companies across the UK. Value creation through a proactive partnership with management teams is the blueprint of LDC’s model and has been the key to our success for over 30 years. With performance our primary goal, his arrival adds yet more capability to help us deliver on our promise.”
Adcock says: “During recent years, I’ve supported many of the LDC team and portfolio companies, and observed its unique relationship-based approach to private equity investing. Given the rate and scale of new investment, the quality and size of the portfolio and the calibre of its investment and portfolio teams, this is an exciting time to be joining the business.”
