Loeb & Loeb appoints Sussman as LA partner

Law firm Loeb & Loeb has hired Allen Z. Sussman in its Los Angeles office as a partner in the capital markets and corporate practice groups.

He was previously a partner in the corporate and securities practice at Reed Smith in Los Angeles.

Sussman focuses his practice on corporate and securities transactions and counselling for clients ranging from newly formed start-up teams to mature public companies in a variety of industries, including healthcare, entertainment, technology and banking. He also represents private equity investors and activist shareholders in acquisition transactions and control contests.

Loeb & Loeb chairman Michael D. Beck says: “As we continue to build our corporate and capital markets platform on the West Coast and nationally, we have focused on talent that can add both business and legal savvy to our practice. Allen brings just the right blend of skill and know-how and he will be a great addition to our team.”

Sussman has a wide range of expertise in public and private securities offerings, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance and SEC compliance, venture capital and private equity transactions, and banking and financial services matters. Prior to private practice, Sussman served as an attorney at the US Securities and Exchange Commission in Washington, D.C. and the Office of Thrift Supervision, Department of the Treasury.

“Loeb & Loeb’s industry focus and high calibre attorneys are very much aligned with the trajectory of my own practice,” says Sussman. “I look forward to working with such a strong group.”
