Westbridge Capital portfolio company Energist Medical Group has bought part of Chromogenex Technologies Limited, the Llanelli-headquartered business that recently went into administration. Altus Capital Partners, an investment firm focused on middle market manufacturing companies in the US, has acquired Nichols Portland, a division of Parker Hannifin Corporation. Nichols Portland is a leading designer and manufacturer of precision powder metal fixed and variable displacement gears including gerotor gears and smart pumps for automotive and on-off highway and other industrial markets. Altus Capital along with the management team of Nichols Portland made this investment to participate in the expected growth of smart pump and advanced variable vane gears. NVM Private Equity (NVM) has successfully exited from Control Risks Group Holdings (Control Risks), a specialist risk consultancy. Caledonian Optical, the lens manufacturing division of Duncan & Todd Group, is poised for expansion following the completion of a GBP1.3m refurbishment at its laboratory in Aberdeen, thanks to the support of BGF (Business Growth Fund).
