TPG Capital (TPG) and Leonard Green Partners are to acquire a majority interest in highetr education software and services provider Ellucian from Hellman & Friedman (H&F) and co-investor JMI Equity.

Toronto-based private equity firm Serruya Private Equity has acquired Sani-Service the Canadian subsidiary of Swisher Hygiene Inc.

Sani-Service is a commercial hygiene & chemical services provider with regional operations based in Ontario, BC & Alberta. Serruya Private Equity is a Toronto-based firm with a broad range of investment activities and a growing portfolio of brands.
Michelin has acquired the Meyer Lissendorf Group, a car tyre wholesale specialist based in Germany. The acquisition is still subject to clearance by the German and Austrian competition authorities. The parties agreed not to disclose further details.
A team from CMS Germany headed by lead partner Dr Oliver Wolfgramm advised Michelin on all aspects of the transaction. The lawyers involved are members of the CMS M&A Automotive cluster of excellence. The deal is part of Michelin's strategy to strengthen its access to the European market.

Uncertainty around the UK general election and concerns about potential changes to Capital Gains Tax (CGT) were shrugged off by the mergers and acquisitions market in the first half of 2015, according to the latest PCPI/PEPI analysis from BDO.
The second quarter of 2015 saw a total of 509 deals completed, a slight increase from last quarter’s 499 deals, making the first half of the year the most active since 2012 with a total of 1,008 deals.

Victory Park Capital’s (VPC) SBIC Fund has provided a senior credit facility to help finance the acquisition of GLE Precision, a precision manufacturer of tungsten carbide tooling, gauges and product components used in diversified industries, including water jet, computer chip, medical, battery, flow technologies, automotive and others.
VPC’s investment will support the acquisition of GLE and the company’s growth initiatives as it expands into new end markets. In addition to the credit facility, the fund also co-invested in the equity financing.

Private equity investor Auda International has acquired general partnership interests and the management of three secondary funds from Thomas Weisel Global Growth Partners LLC, a subsidiary of Stifel Financial Corp.
As part of the transaction, Christian Munafo, who has been involved in managing the Funds since their inception, has joined the Auda team effective immediately. Apart from continuing to manage the Funds, Munafo will be responsible for further developing Auda’s existing secondaries program.

Law firm Howard Kennedy has advised AIM listed Fitbug Holdings on its latest fund raising that has seen the company raise a further GBP1,665,000, and on the restructuring of its existing loans.
The fund raising comprises:
• GBP665,000 raised by way of a new share placing;
• GBP350,000 raised by subscription from NW1 Investments; and
• A new GBP650,000 convertible loan in favour of NW1 Investments.
At the same time Fitbug has agreed the restructuring of its loans, which extend the terms until 2017 and reduces the interest payable.

Investment banking boutique Zeus Capital has advised clinical stage biopharmaceutical group Motif Bio on its GBP22m fundraise.
Based in London, Motif Bio has responded directly to the threat posed by antibiotic-resistant bacteria. The firm's lead product, iclaprim, is currently in clinical development. The drug is set to fill a major market void, as it is designed to fight serious and life-threatening hospital infections, responsible for at least 23,000 deaths in the US in 2013.
The firm had announced its intention to fundraise last month, but the deal was conditional upon securing a key designation by drug regulators in the
