Private equity firm Levine Leichtman Capital Partners (LLCP) has partnered with management to complete the acquisition of CJ Fallon Limited.
Based in Dublin, Ireland, CJ Fallon represents LLCP's first investment from Levine Leichtman Capital Partners Europe, a EUR100 million private equity fund dedicated to investing in Europe.
CJ Fallon is a provider of educational content in both print and digital formats to primary and secondary schools throughout Ireland. Founded in 1927, the Company has a strong reputation for high quality content with over 900 titles across 20 different subject areas, as well as proprietary Maths and English benchmarking assessments. Deal Capital, a middle market merger and acquisition advisory firm, has expanded its buy-side advisory practice for private equity and family office firms across the United States and Canada.
The move is due to recent partnerships inked with strategic private equity groups looking to quickly expand their footprint in sourcing good deals for acquisition.

Jersey has an opportunity to diversify its alternative funds capabilities and a growing role to play as a European domicile supporting US fund managers, according to panellists at this year’s Jersey Finance Annual London Fund Conference.
Discussing global opportunities for Jersey, the panel at this year’s conference, which took place on 19 March at 8 Northumberland Avenue and was entitled 'Winning Moves', highlighted that there was real potential for Jersey to build on its strong track record in the real estate and private equity fund asset classes, galvanise its hedge fund offering and diversify further within the alternative asset classes.
Alternative asset manager The Carlyle Group is to acquire a majority stake in assets services firm Conifer Financial Services. Senior management of Conifer will continue to lead the business and own a significant minority interest in the company.
The transaction, terms of which have not been disclosed, is expected to close in the second quarter of 2015 subject to customary closing requirements and regulatory approvals.

Wheelhouse has expanded into private equity investing through the newly formed Wheelhouse Capital Partners, which is backed by Global Endowment Management (GEM).
Wheelhouse Capital Partners is looking to acquire lower middle market businesses in the USD10 million to USD30 million range in its two core sectors: healthcare and industrial services.

Social media management platform Falcon Social has closed a fund raising round of USD16 million.
The Series B financing round was led by Prime Ventures and joined by existing Falcon Social investors Northcap and Target Partners, bringing the company’s total financing to date to USD25.33 million. The new financing will help support the company’s product development, innovation and continued global expansion.

BlueMountain Capital Management has entered into a consulting agreement with Harvard economics professor Jeremy C Stein, who was a member of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System from May 2012 to May 2014.
Professor Stein will advise BlueMountain on a range of issues, including implications of monetary and macroprudential policies, financial regulation and market evolution, and risk and capital management.

iAngels has raised a USD2.25 million Seed Round led by Roman Abramovich's fund, Millhouse Capital.

Atlas Holdings has acquired Merchants Metals, the second largest fencing manufacturer/distributor in North America, from Oldcastle, the North American arm of CRH plc.
The company manufactures and distributes fencing products for commercial, residential and industrial uses.

Victory Park Capital Advisors (Victory Park Capital) has been retained by newly formed, UK investment company VPC Speciality Lending (VPC) to serve as investment manager.
VPC completed its initial public offering of ordinary shares on the Main Market of the London Stock Exchange on 13 March.
As investment manager, Victory Park Capital will be charged with investing approximately USD300 million in opportunities within the specialty lending market primarily through online lending platforms.
