Wroclaw-based Work Service Group has established a new joint venture for the German market with the international Fiege Group of Greven. The new company will comprise the three German Work Service firms and Fiege subsidiaries Fiege uni/serv GmbH and FIEGE worksess GmbH. The transaction is currently awaiting approval from the competition authorities.   An international team of CMS drawn from its offices in Düsseldorf, Cologne, Warsaw and Vienna advised Work Service on all legal aspects of the project over an extended period. Global social listening and analysis platform Synthesio has secured USD20m in funding from European private equity firm Idinvest Partners. Digitalbox, the performance marketing specialist, has secured USD1m in venture capital funding from a series of high net worth investors to help fund the expansion of its native advertising business, ContentClick.

 With over 500 publishers and bloggers signed up to the nascent publishing network since its launch in early January 2014, the funding will be used to finance the expansion of the ContentClick service internationally, notably in territories with large scale blogging networks and niche publishers.

Alternative asset manager The Carlyle Group, together with affiliates of Louis M Bacon, are to acquire a majority interest in the Traxys Group, a physical metals and minerals commodity merchant. As part of the transaction, Traxys management will increase its investment stake in the company.   The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions including required regulatory approvals and is expected to close in the third quarter of 2014. Crestbridge has been granted AIFM licensing by Luxembourg’s Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF) to become a provider of management company services to alternative investment funds. Water Street Healthcare Partners and JLL Partners have merged their portfolio companies CCBR-SYNARC and BioClinica. Houlihan Lokey, the international investment bank, has acquired ArchPoint Partners, an independent investment banking firm that provides M&A and private capital raising advisory services to clients in the technology sector. A fund managed by Blackstone on behalf of its private equity investors is to acquire a majority stake in Accuvant, a provider of information security solutions and services.
