Venture capital firm FinTech Collective has announced fundraises for its existing early-stage strategy and its new strategy focused on decentralised finance (DeFi).  FinTech Collective raised a combined USD250 million in capital across the two strategies, bringing the firm’s total assets under management (AUM) to over USD500 million. FinTech Collective backs entrepreneurs rewiring how money moves through the world and invests thematically and across capital markets, wealth and asset management, banking-lending-payments, and insurance. Bridges Fund Management (Bridges), a specialist sustainable and impact investor, has completed the sale of The Vet, a UK-based affordable veterinary services provider, to CVS Group, one of the UK’s leading providers of integrated veterinary services. Bridges created The Vet in 2013 (in partnership with founder/CPO Jane Baldwin), recognising that while the number of pet owners was growing steadily, many were finding it hard to access quality veterinary services. Actis, a global investor in sustainable infrastructure, has sold Saavi Energía (Saavi), the fourth largest independent power producer and the largest privately held stand-alone power generator in Mexico, to Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP). Terms of the transaction have not been released. Saavi has a geographically diverse 2.2 net GW portfolio of six CCGTs, three compression stations and 65 km of associated natural gas pipelines. Saavi primarily serves the Mexican power market as well as providing reserve capacity for specified markets in California.   GIP’s acquisition of Saavi follows its investment in the Company’s USD325 million Secured Term Loan in 2020,
Sentinel Capital Partners, a private equity firm that invests in promising lower midmarket companies, has sold Corporate Visions Inc, a US sales and marketing enablement company, to The Riverside Company. The terms have not been disclosed. Based in Reno, Nevada, Corporate Visions offers sales, marketing, and customer success messaging, content, and IP-based training solutions to B2B companies. Vault Verify, a human capital management platform that allows HR departments to automate employee verification through API integrations, today announced a significant growth investment from PSG, a leading growth equity firm partnering with middle-market software and technology-enabled services companies.  The investment represents Vault Verify’s first institutional capital and aims to help accelerate the company’s investment in product innovation to help HR departments be more efficient and secure. Private equity investment firm Growthdeck – alongside existing investors, IP Group and Parkwalk – has closed a GBP1.575 million fundraise for the secure digital archiving platform Arkivum. Arkivum helps businesses ensure that the data they have collected remains accessible, secure and usable for decades into the future. It works with businesses, often in highly regulated industries, to deal with the data archiving problems that tech consultancy Forrester has described as a ‘ticking time-bomb’. China’s startup ecosystem, which produced several world-leading companies, has been in the news in the recent past about the impact of the government regulations on the venture capital (VC) market.
