Swedish-based investment platform Trine has partnered with Altech Group, a Democratic Republic of Congo-based (DRC) distributor of clean energy products and services.
The new partnership, totalling EUR5 million across multiple tranches, is set to accelerate investments in solar in the DRC, expanding access to clean, reliable, and affordable energy for off-grid and poor-grid households.

MPC Energy Solutions has acquired a 3.4 MW Combined Heat and Power (CHP) project in Puerto Rico. The project will sell the produced heat and power under a 12-year USD-denominated energy service agreement to a pharmaceutical company.
This is MPC Energy Solutions’ first acquisition since its listing on the Oslo Stock Exchange’s Euronext Growth segment in January 2021. The acquisition is subject to customary closing conditions and expected for August 2021.
The project is currently under construction with expected commissioning to take place in August 2021. Once complete, it is expected to produce 25,000-30,000 MWh of energy supply annually
Funds advised by IK Investment Partners (IK) are to invests in Mecenat Holding AB Mecenat. Financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.

Iksuda Therapeutics (Iksuda), the developer of a new generation of antibody drug conjugates (ADCs) with raised therapeutic index, today announced it has completed a USD47 million (circa GBP34 million) financing round, co-led by Mirae Asset Capital and its subsidiaries, Celltrion and Premier Partners, with the Company being advised by Ashfords LLP.

Uruguayan fintech payments company dLocal, the country’s first unicorn, has raised USD617.65 million in its initial public offering, which started trading on Thursday on the Nasdaq under the symbol ‘DLO’.
Of the shares sold, close to 4.4 million were by dLOcal and 25 million by its existing investors. JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs, Citigroup and Morgan Stanley were the lead underwriters for the IPO.
Led by its 30-year-old CEO Sebastián Kanovich and headquartered in Uruguay, dLocal is the first unicorn to come out of one of South America’s smallest countries. Kanovich is a pioneer in the EM payments space, having spun off dLocal from AstroPay in January 2016.

Dutch blockchain investment fund Maven 11 Capital has raised EUR40 million which it will invest in start- and scale-ups creating innovative financial services and building Web 3.0. using blockchain technology.
The new fund is a direct response to the explosive demand for investment in, and mentoring of, start-ups in decentralised finance, where cutting edge technology plays a central role. Due to this, and the rapid development of DeFi and Web 3.0, the fund could very well close before summer’s end.
