Par Equity has led an investment of GBP2 million in data management specialist Datactics. Belfast-based Datactics provides software and services to large organisations that need to improve and control the quality of the data held in their computer systems. The AI-enabled platform allows staff who are not IT experts to efficiently deduplicate, clean-up and enrich the information in their lines of business. For businesses that have information spread across many databases, the products enable them to give their customers a better quality, more joined-up service, while reducing their costs.  Datactics operates in the fast-growing data and data quality management industry.
LeapFrog Investments, a Profit with Purpose investment firm, has expanded its Investor Relations team following the recent USD500 million partnership signed with Temasek, representing the largest ever commitment to an impact investor.  Joining as Head of Investor Relations, reporting into partner Nick Moon, Greg Jones will lead LeapFrog’s client services efforts across its global investor base of over 100 investors and help play a leading role on future fundraises.     Jones spent the past seven years at CVC Capital Partners as Vice-President of Investor Relations, where he led or co-led a series of private equity and credit fundraisings totalling
The Kempen European Private Equity Fund, the private equity investment fund of Kempen Capital Management (Kempen), has acquired a direct interest in a new entity by the name of Tellus Group (Tellus) that was formed as a result of the merger of five regional campervan dealers in Norway.  Tellus was formed by the merger of five Norwegian campervan dealers with a total of ten locations. The new group employs 120 people. The ten locations are state-of-the-art motorhome dealerships, located strategically across Norway. Invizius Limited (Invizius), a biotechnology company developing treatments to suppress unwanted innate immune responses, has closed a Series A financing of GBP5.3 million. The round was led by existing investors Mercia, Downing Ventures, Old College Capital, Scottish Enterprise, Solvay Ventures and new investors Calculus Capital and experienced life science entrepreneur and investor, Dr Jonathan Milner. Although already over-subscribed, the company’s Series A remains open to other investors until June 2021.   Invizius will use the financing to complete a First-in-Man safety study in 2022 of its H-Guard Priming Solution to reduce the life-threatening inflammatory effects of haemodialysis.   There are
Drops, a project aiming to unlock additional value for non-fungible tokens (NFTs), has closed a USD1 million funding round from private investors.  The round was led by Axia8 Ventures, Bitscale Capital, Blocksync, AU21, x21, D64, Genblock, and Drops Ventures. The successful round of funding builds on Drops’ network of strategic partners which include Polkastarter, Quantstamp, 0xb1, Kyros Ventures, Zokyo, Petrock Capital and Blockstar Technologies. Drops will use the raised capital for development, marketing, operational expenses, and liquidity provision. Partners Group is to acquire Axia Women’s Health (Axia), a women’s healthcare provider in the US, from Audax Private Equity.  Partners Group will become the majority equity holder, while Axia’s management team and physician partners will retain a substantial minority equity stake.   Axia is headquartered in Voorhees, New Jersey, and provides a highly integrated platform of non-clinical business and administrative support services, such as accounting, HR, insurance, IT, and practice management services, to its network of physician practices across the US. OpenGate Capital, a global private equity firm, has completed the acquisition of the North American and European amphoteric surfactant business from Solvay. As part of this transaction, the business has been renamed Verdant Specialty Solutions (Verdant), representing a new chapter of innovation and growth for the company. MacNeill Pride Group (MPG), a diversified global designer and manufacturer of outdoor products and sporting goods, has acquired GCI Outdoor (GCI), a leading designer of portable, built-to-last outdoor recreation equipment. Terms of the transaction have not been disclosed. MPG is a portfolio company of Centre Partners.  Founded in 1996, GCI offers high quality outdoor recreation equipment, including portable camping chairs, camp kitchens, waterside chairs and recliners and other outdoor gear. Foxway has acquired the German recommerce specialist Flip4 GmbH (Flip4). The transaction is an important part in Foxway’s strategy to become the leading company in reuse, repair and sourcing of ICT-devices in Europe.   Foxway is one of the largest specialists in IT-lifecycle management in Northern-Europe. The group has a turnover of EUR300 million in 2020 and employs more than 700 employees.
