The total number of registered Jersey Private Funds (JPFs) has grown by almost two-fifths year-on-year, according to the latest figures, as the structure continues to assert its appeal for cross-border alternative fund structuring. The latest Enterprise Software M&A report from Hampleton Partners, an international technology mergers and acquisitions adviser, reveals that the number of deals targeting enterprise software assets has jumped, with 836 deals recorded in the second half of 2020 compared to 641 deals in the first half of the year. Connection Capital, a specialist private client investment business, has completed another successful exit from a management buyout (MBO) investment, with the sale of Carter Accommodation Group Ltd, a leading UK portable accommodation hire company, to trade buyer Modulaire Group. Private investor clients of Connection Capital invested GBP5.3 million in the company’s GBP12 million MBO in 2015. Sixpoint Partners, a leading global investment bank serving the middle market, has held the closing of Sheridan Capital Partners Fund II, above its hard cap with USD306 million of total capital commitments. proSapient has closed a USD10m Series A investment round led by Smedvig Capital, with Guy Hands and existing investors 24 Haymarket also participating in the round. Private equity firm OpenGate Capital is to sell Bois & Matériaux (B&M), a French building products distributor, to Chausson Matériaux, a major building materials distribution company.  Terms of the agreement have not been disclosed, and the final sale is subject to closing conditions and works council consultation. OpenGate Capital acquired B&M in March of 2016 from Wolseley Plc, representing the firm’s second investment within Fund I.   Bois & Matériaux, with headquarters in Pacé, France, is one of the leading building materials distributors in France.
