UK private equity manager Maven Capital Partners (Maven) has invested GBP1.5 million in Gen inCode, a genetic testing business specialising in the risk assessment and prediction of cardiovascular disease.
Gen inCode raised in total GBP3.4 million, where Maven invested alongside another institutional investor and existing private shareholders.
Gen inCode has developed a range of patented DNA risk assessment products which utilise AI, bioinformatics and a globally recognised clinical evidence base to provide predictive analysis of a patient’s health risk. MidOcean Partners, a middle market private equity firm focused on the business services and consumer sectors, has acquired Music Reports, an independent provider of music rights data, administration, and management services, from ABRY Partners and the company’s co-founders, Ronald Gertz and Douglas Brainin. MidOcean’s investment will be used to accelerate Music Reports’ growth, both through organic product initiatives, as well as potential acquisitions. Financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.

Private investment firm GI Partners has completed the previously announced acquisition of Clinical Ink, a global clinical trial technology company.Headquartered in Horsham, Pennsylvania, Clinical Ink offers data certainty from source to submission during clinical trials. The company’s Lumenis eSource clinical technology is a suite of solutions for capturing and integrating clinical trial electronic study data from sites, clinicians, and patients in real time. Through configurable direct data capture (DDC), electronic clinical outcome assessment (eCOA), electronic patient reported outcomes (ePRO), and eConsent modules, the company’s eSource Ecosystem has been deployed across 300 studies, in all Phases (I–IV).

Phosplatin Therapeutics, a clinical stage pharmaceutical company focused on oncology therapeutics, has completed an oversubscribed USD18.4 million private financing round. Participation included new and existing investors, inclusive of family offices from the US, Europe and Asia-Pacific, and high net worth individuals.
