Sphera, a provider of integrated risk management software and information services with a focus on Environmental Health & Safety, Operational Risk and Product Stewardship, has acquired thinkstep, a Stuttgart, Germany-based software and information services company that specialises in Corporate Sustainability and Product Stewardship.
The deal, announced in July, was completed after German regulatory authorities approved the acquisition.

Process Systems Enterprise (PSE), a supplier of predictive Advanced Process Modelling (APM) software and services, is exiting the AlbionVC portfolio to join Siemens AG in Q4 this year, for an undisclosed amount.
PSE’s advanced process models are used within digital R&D, design and operations in the process industries to help make fast, safe and more efficient decisions through rapid and effective exploration of the decision space. The technology is widely used in the chemicals, petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals and food industries to accelerate innovation, improve process design and operation, streamline R&D and manage technology risk.

Align Capital Partners (ACP) has completed the majority recapitalisation of vertical transportation services (VTS) provider Southwest Elevator Company (Southwest).
Third generation VTS operator, Tom Cavinder, will remain with the Company as CEO and lead its national buy-and-build growth strategy.
Headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas, Southwest is an independent union provider of preventative maintenance, repair, and modernization services for elevators and escalators. The Company services properties throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth (“DFW”) metroplex across a variety of end-markets.

Ropes & Gray has advised pan-European private equity firm Silverfleet Capital on its acquisition of a majority stake in European hose and subsystem designer and manufacturer BOA Purified Solutions & BOA Flexible Solutions (based in The Netherlands and France) – now known as BOA CoreDux.
The terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.
It is the third acquisition that Ropes & Gray has advised Silverfleet Capital on since December 2017.

European debt investor Permira Debt Managers (PDM) has held the the final close of its fifth structured credit fund Permira Sigma V (Sigma V).
Sigma V will continue the successes of the Sigma strategy, investing long-term capital in European CLOs, in both the primary and secondary markets. The Fund specialises in the most junior parts of the CLO capital structure where PDM’s credit-led approach provides the greatest differentiation. Entrepreneurial Equity Partners (e2p), a Chicago-based private equity firm focused on the food and consumer packaged goods industries, has acquired Daniele International (Daniele) from the Dukcevich family, who will maintain a significant stake in the Company.
The investment is the second platform and third acquisition for e2p’s inaugural fund.
Founded in 1945, Daniele produces specialty Italian charcuterie and deli meats, including prosciutto, salame, and snack packs. The Company sells to hundreds of club, mass, and grocery customers under the Daniele and Del Duca brands and offers private label products for retailers. Lenses.io, a specialist in DataOps, has raised USD7.5 million in Series A funding from international VC firm, 83North, joining the company’s previous investor, Marathon Venture Capital. Laurel Bowden, Partner at 83North led the funding round and joins Lenses’ board of directors.
The company plans to use the funding to accelerate product development and scale operations in Europe and the US to meet growing international demand. Lenses launched its flagship DataOps product in early 2018 and has enjoyed rapid customer adoption, including multiple Fortune 500 companies such as Babylon Health, Daimler, Zopa, Playtika and SAS Software.
