Marc Gordon joins StarPoint Properties as VP

Marc Gordon, a 25 year real estate industry veteran, has joined StarPoint Properties, a specialist in the acquisition, redevelopment and repositioning of real estate properties, as vice president.  

Based in the firm’s Beverly Hills office, he is responsible for overseeing the debt and new equity practice group.

“Marc’s extensive experience in the acquisition, financing and management of commercial real estate will allow us to continue expanding our portfolio and keep our fingers on the pulse of the various markets that we’re active in,” says Paul Daneshrad, CEO of StarPoint. “There is no question that this type of experience is a must for companies who want to thrive as the economy continues to recover and we are pleased to welcome him to our team.”

Gordon has been entrenched in the retail and multifamily sectors throughout his career. As both principal and broker, he has been responsible for over $750 million in the acquisition, financing and management of commercial real estate throughout the country.

Prior to joining StarPoint, Gordon served as senior vice president of Investors Management Group, Inc., a private real estate investment firm, specialising in the multifamily sector. Here, he was responsible for overseeing the acquisition process, as well as all the debt and equity requirements in multiple national markets.

Previous positions also include serving as the chief financial officer of several real estate acquisition and development companies which, in total had acquired, developed, and financed over $1 billion in real estate transactions nationally. He has also served as the principal of a commercial mortgage brokerage and consulting company. 
 
A graduate of the University of Witwatersrand in South Africa, he received his degree in accounting, and a postgraduate degree in accounting and finance. He also received the professional designations of Chartered Accountant (South Africa) and Certified Public Accountant, as well as being a licensed California real estate broker.
 
Gordon began his career in public accounting, which provided a strong foundation to the analytical approach required for the acquisition and financing of real estate. His move to the United States during the real estate downturn in the late 1980’s has enabled him to work through the various cycles of the industry which has proved invaluable throughout his career.
