Commenting on the appointment, James Stirling, Investec Growth & Acquisition Finance, says: “Mark has an impressive track record of investing in medium sized businesses and their management teams across the north of England. As the UK economy improves regional companies are looking to invest and enter new markets. As both a debt and equity provider, Investec is well positioned to be a one-stop solution to help these companies achieve their ambitions. ”

Buttler says: “I am delighted to be joining Investec at such an exciting time. The business has an entrepreneurial culture and has been built on its strength of servicing mid-market companies. I am focused on helping to grow the bank’s client base across the north. The ability to act as a one-stop-shop and provide debt and minority equity to fund buy-outs, acquisitions and organic growth plans is a clear difference in the market.”
