Maven appoints new Investment Director to North West and NPIF team

UK private equity manager Maven Capital Partners (Maven) has appointed Dave Furlong as an Investment Director, based in the firm’s Manchester office.

Furlong brings 20 years’ experience to the Maven team, joining from Infinity Debt Capital Management where, as partner and head of debt fund, he oversaw the launch and overall management of a new SME/mid-market regional debt fund and originated new private equity opportunities. Prior to that, Furlong held senior positions at HSBC across London and the UK regions, and ultimately ran the Leveraged Finance business in the North West where he was responsible for the origination, execution and monitoring of a £500m portfolio of leveraged facilities across a wide range of transaction sizes and types and also held a similar role at Lloyds Banking Group in Manchester.

In his role at Maven, Furlong will be responsible for sourcing and executing new investments for the NPIF Equity Finance fund, and will also work with portfolio companies across the NPIF to advise them and help them achieve their future growth plans.

Maven invests through a range of client funds including six Venture Capital Trusts, Private Equity, Specialist Property and a number of regionally focused funds delivering equity and debt finance. These provide a range of flexible funding solutions for entrepreneurial businesses with the ability to commit investments of up to GBP10 million.

Ryan Bevington, Investment Director at Maven and Fund Manager for NPIF Maven Equity Finance, says: “We are very pleased to welcome Dave to our North West team, where he will invest in high-growth SME companies in support of the NPIF Maven Equity Finance fund and work closely with portfolio companies across the region. Dave brings extensive experience of transacting SME debt and equity investments in the North West and around the UK, and will enhance a highly-resourced NPIF investment team delivering the fund.”
