McCarthy Capital, a private equity firm based in Nebraska, has announced that Robert Y. Emmert has joined the firm as a partner.
McCarthy Capital, a private equity firm based in Nebraska, has announced that Robert Y. Emmert has joined the firm as a partner.
He will manage the Eastern US region from the firm’s Boston office. His primary responsibilities will include evaluating, structuring and making investments and managing portfolio companies.
Emmert joins McCarthy Capital after 12 years with Alta Communications where he was a general partner. While at Alta, a Boston-based private equity firm focused on the media and communications industry, he was involved with numerous middle-market private equity transactions.
He has also worked in the investment banking division of DB Alex Brown and the corporate finance division of Brown Brothers Harriman, where he evaluated investment opportunities for the 1818 Fund, a private equity partnership.
Emmert has served in a board capacity for numerous privately held companies and is currently a member of the board of privately-held NRG Media.
