MiddleGround Capital has announced a series of firmwide promotions, including the elevation of Roland Veldhuijzen van Zanten to Managing Director, as the operationally focused investor continues to scale its European and North American investment platform.
The Lexington-based private equity firm, which focuses on control investments in middle-market industrial and specialty distribution businesses across North America and Europe, said the promotions reflect ongoing organisational growth and an emphasis on internal talent development.
Van Zanten’s promotion follows his work on MiddleGround’s European investment strategy. Based in Amsterdam, he previously served as Director within the firm’s EU transaction team and brings prior experience from roles at Credit Suisse and Belgian investment firm Gimv, where he focused on industrials, sustainable energy and infrastructure investments.
Firm leadership said his appointment reflects both his investment track record and alignment with MiddleGround’s operationally driven investment approach, which combines hands-on portfolio management with traditional private equity execution.
Alongside this promotion, the firm confirmed six additional internal advancements across its Lexington and European offices spanning transactions, operations, business development and human capital functions. The changes include elevations across director and vice president levels, as well as senior associate promotions designed to support the firm’s expanding platform.
Management said the appointments are intended to strengthen leadership depth across investment and operational teams as MiddleGround continues to grow its footprint in both the US and Europe. The firm reiterated its focus on developing internal talent pipelines and building long-term leadership capacity within the organisation.
