Mintz has added to its market-leading corporate practice with the appointment of attorney Loretta Shaw-Lorello, who joins the firm as a Member.
Shaw-Lorello was most recently vice-chair of the Private Funds practice at Covington & Burling, as well as a partner in the Private Equity practice.
Shaw-Lorello has a multifaceted private equity and investment funds practice that encompasses advising private equity fund sponsors on a broad range of issues with respect to fund formation, operation and regulatory compliance. She has extensive experience in representing clients in the formation and operation of buyout funds, venture capital funds, real estate funds, distressed funds, and credit opportunity funds. She also counsels fund sponsors on the formation and operation of investment manager and general partner entities, including investment adviser registration and compliance and structuring carried interest plans and employee co-investment arrangements.
Shaw-Lorello regularly works with public and private pension plans on reviewing and negotiating their private equity and hedge fund investments and has advised high net worth investors and private banks on the structuring and formation of feeder funds for private equity and real estate fund investments.
